Bannack 17x 65

2/22/11 - 4:49 p.m. Bannack, MT

Canon EOS Rebel T2i, Landscape, f/9.0 1/200 sec

EDITS: Dynamic Photo, Photoshop Adjustment Layers.

Process: I chose this image because I knew I wanted to print a Panorama to put in my hallway. I also feel like with this image. I always knew what was going on and so I was able to make it look the way I wanted it to.
To start off I brought the image into photoshop and merged them, I then took it into Dynamic Photo and put it through the HDR process because I really wanted to make the colors more vivid and bring out the colors in the sky. Afterwards, I brought it into Photoshop and made adjustment layers to bring out different parts of the photo. I also added a levels and color Balance. I used the level to darken it then I masked out the middle so it only affected the edges. I also cropped the length a bit.
Printing it wasn't difficult, everything went smoothly because I followed the correct process. I did have a hard time finding a frame though. So after buying a few full length mirrors that were kind of , bleh. I ended up going to ace Hardware and building my own with would that I had them precut for me. Angles and all. I then put it together with nails, that didn't work, and then screws which totally worked. Overall, I'm very happy with my result and I'm excited to hang it in my house.

FINAL HDR
My 3 image HDR didn't turn out how I wanted to. I didn't quite understand the concept of HDR so my final image isn't so great. If I were to go back out to back and do this one again I think it would turn out much better

Fine Art Template

Both of these were made using the Tutorial #36. they are both the same dimension exept one has a border of black and the other doesn't. Which one looks better posted on here?

Night and Lights

I heart Jimmy Johns; 2/20/11 2:17 a.m. Rexburg, ID; f/6.3, 1.6sec, Shutter Priority; Canon EOS Rebel T2i: This is my Camera Motion Painting. It is of Jimmy Johns and you can see the sign "Jimmy Johns" repeated three times throughout the picture. I drew an upside down heart with my camera which made it appear the correct way.
The Snow Plower: 2/20/2:07 a.m. Rexburg, ID; f 6.3, 0.8 sec; Shutter Priority; Canon EOS Rebel T2i: This image is actually for my moving objects at night. I took this picture while the snowplower was coming towards me. I had my lights off so I didn't let in too much light and then I realized, "with my lights off he might not be able to see me back here." So I had to hurry and get out of there. It was quite the adventure.
Glow Stick Twirl- a-whirl: 2/20/11; 2:45 a.m. Rexburg, ID, f/6.3; 13.0 sec; Canon EOS Rebel T2i: This is my Light Painting. I used glow sticks and set it for 13 seconds. I spun 4 different glow sticks in front of the camera. Some more than one to create this image that looks like the edge of a flower.
Jimmy; 2/20/11 2:14 a.m. Rexburg, ID; f/6.3, 1/10 sec; Canon EOS Rebel T2i: With this image I tried using one of the effects from that Dan image from our Case Study. Meaning I set the camera up took the picture and then while the shutter was still open I turned my car headlights on for a second and turned them back off so it didn't let in too much light. Justwanted to show my attempt.
Cowboy Bar: 1/30/11; 6:00 p.m. Jackson,Wy; f/4.6, 1/50sec; Canon EOS Rebel T2i: This image is actually from a couple weeks ago but I wanted to add it on for this week anyway. I just liked the way it turned out.

Portraits

Pretty in Pink: 2/6/11 5:00 p.m. Rexburg, ID F/4.5 1/60 sec; Portrait mode; Canon EOS
Gamer: 2/6/11 6:05 p.m. Rexburg, ID; f/5.6 1/60 sec; portrait mode; Canon EOS My image of someone in their environment. She loves this game.
Litha: 2/6/11 5:47 p.m. Rexburg, ID; f/4.5 1/60 sec; portrait mode; Canon EOS
Little Family: 2/6/11 6: 45 p.m. Rexburg, ID, f/3.5 1/60 sec Portrait mode; Canon EOS More than one person.

This project was the hardest for me so far. I'm not the best at bossing people around and telling them how to pose or dress. My idea was that the more I tell them how to look the less they are like themselves. Which could be true but maybe I could have gotten some better shots if I had taken more control.

Camera Raw Edit

BEFORE:
AFTER:

1. Measuring Cups; 1/31/11 9:30 a.m. f/11 1/200 sec; ISO 400; Canon EOS Rebel T2i
I took this picture on my window sill with natural lighting. I edited in camera and used all the basic editing bumped it up or down in each department and then I used the adjustment brush to get the exact effect I wanted in each spot.

PANORAMIC

1: Train; 1/30/11 10:30 a.m. Rexburg, ID; f/11 1/200 sec Landscape mode; Canon EOS Rebel T2i
I found out I wasn't allowed over here after I took the pictures! Oh well, I already took them! I also made a few edits in Camera Raw and Photoshop.

2: The Horse and the Silos; 1/30/11 9:45 a.m. Rexburg, ID; f/10 1/400 sec EF-S55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Canon EOS Rebel T2i

I took this one with my telephoto lense cause it was a bit to far away for my other one. My shutter speed was a bit faster because of the horse. I made a few edits and used content aware fill on the edges and corners.

Non Destructive Editing

Big Willow: Rexburg, ID 1/23/11 4:22 p.m.; f/18 1/125 sec; Canon EOS Rebel T2i
Big Willow After: Smart Filters: I paced this image in Photoshop in order for it to be a Smart Object. I did this by clicking File>Place> then selecting the image I wanted. After that I adjusted the layers (non destructively) and contrast Then I applied the smart filters. I started of by sharpening it with the Hard Light option and liked it there but wanted to a bit more to the photo. I then applied a water paper filter and adjusted it to my preference. After all of this I again adjusted my layers to get a better color.
Berries Before: 1/23/11 3:28 p.m. ; f/5.6 1/320; Canon EOS Rebel T2i Macro Setting
Berries After: I used Non destructive editing on this photo. I added a couple of different adjustment layers by clicking on the Yin-Yang button. I first changed the levels a bit and then upped the contrast. I also changed it to black and white and brought out the red in it. After that I added a mask and painted over the berries and a few other thorns to bring the red out a bit. The Blur was already there. I had a lot of fun editing this one.

Flora and Fauna

1. Pokie; Rexburg, ID 1/23/11 3:23 p.m.; f/10 1/200 sec; Canon EOS Rebel T2i.
For my first Flora photo I got close up to a plant in my back yard. I had it on Macro Setting. and loved the blur I got in the background. I adjusted levels and curves in Photoshop.
1. Willow; Rexburg, ID; 1/23/11 4:23; f/4.0 1/800 sec; Canon EOS Rebel T2i
I have always loved willows. They are my favorite tree and when I saw this one covered in frost I couldn't help but pull over and take a picture. I got a lot of different angles but I liked the lines and the different perspective of this one. I adjusted the levels and added a black and white effect and brought out the blue a bit. I also brought up the contrast.

1. Horse: Rexburg, ID; 1/23/11 4:16 p.m.; f/18; 1/60 sec; Canon EOS Rebel T2i
I has a really hard time getting my fauna pictures. I couldn't get close enough to the animals finally I pulled some weeds and held my hand out to the horse and he came right over! I wish I would have thought of that a little bit earlier. I adjusted levels in photoshop.

Monkey: Rexburg, ID; 1/23/11 3:38 p.m.; f/4.0 1/60 sec; Canon EOS Rebel T2i
I found this monkey while on my search for faunas! Just for fun :) I made adjustments in photoshop to bring out the blue in his eyes and used a mask to only change the blue in his eyes and the sweatshirt.
